It’s been over two years now since I returned home…

It’s been over two years now since I returned home, and what started out as a conscious decision to not write the last blog post until I had time to reflect and gain some perspective, quickly turned into the time consuming task of starting my life and career again. I’m back working in New York City which feels a million miles away from my journey, yet in many ways it still feels as close as yesterday. I finally “found” the time to finish the blog by sequestering myself alone for a few days at my buddy Mick’s cabin in Vermont, well away from the hectic pace of my day-to-day life and the leash of my smartphone. So what follows are some long overdue updates to my journey.

What a cliff hanger. It felt like someone tore the last few pages out one of the greatest books ever written.

Crazy thing Lenny. My wife and I were JUST talking about you only minutes before this post came to my email. I’ve shared your story with some friends, but I think I got the most mileage from your story of giving the crooked Police Officer a counterfeit bill. I still get a chuckle out of it even today. It was great to have met you in Guatemala with our motorcycle missionary team.
Have a blessed Jesus’ birthday Lenny.

    What is your next adventure?

Leeennnnnnyyy! Excellent to see an entry. I think about you often. Well, twice. ha ha
Merry Christmas. I know your skiing in Vermont.

This must have been the night for coincidences. Fritz, Marnie, Bill and I were discussing your trip tonight as we were telling about our first trip to Guatemala in 2010. The owner of Happy Trails was at a Christmas party with us and we told about the H-T boxes surviving the wreck and being tweaked and welded to make the rest of the trip.

God Bless, Lenny. We’ve had a lot of adventures following you!

      Hi Lisa,

to funny…well, tell him he if he ever wants a testimonial for his side cases I’ve got the story and the pictures to back it up! I still use those boxes to this day!

      Merry Christmas!

Forgot to mention, I drew the map for you to Mike’s Sky Ranch, Baja Mex.

    • Lenny says:

Hi Steve! Yes, for sure…you were riding an F650 Beemer as I recall… great to hear from you! I did make it to Mike’s Sky Ranch…though I was literally the only one there that night….that place is for sure waaaay off the beaten path. Great ride out there through the desert though. Hope all is well with you!

      • Steve says:

You’ll have to make your way back to San Diego during the baja 250, 500 and/or 1000. We can plan a trip with my riding buddies and son back to Mike’s Sky Ranch, so you can be there when all the action is happening. A once in a life time experience… Thanks for responding to my last message!!!

  7. Hi Lenny

They say every road leads home. You have fulfilled a dream…something most people never do. It was a pleasure to have met you. I still shake my head and wonder how you put that Jeannie back in the bottle…I really thought you’d just keep going!! Oh yeah…there is that thing called money though…need it to do almost everything, but your experiences along the way … are priceless! Greetings and Merry Christmas from your Alaskan friends Scott and Becki …and all the critters

    Peace and<3

    • Lenny says:

      Hi Becki!

That Jeannie can burst out at any time! lol Merry Christmas to you and Scott and please pass along my hello and holiday wishes to Glenn…

      Cheers!

      -Lenny

Brave man you are. We are all glad you took the time to share your daily/ weekly/ monthly experiences with all of us. Good to know you made it home safe and back together with friends and family.
My dad, Steve (second reply above mine) would share with me and his friends your experiences. We were curious to know if you did ride out to Mike’s Sky Ranch ( Rancho Mike) between Ensenada and San Felipe after your ride to Starbucks that morning and talked with him.
Again, good to know you’re alive and well.

  9. Tracy says:

    Hi Lenny,

Was happy to finally see a post! I’ve been patiently waiting and as a matter of fact, checked the blog back in November to see if there was anything new on it! Hope you are well and happy for you that you completed ONE of your lifelong dreams!

    Sláinte!!

    Tracy

p.s. I finally made it to Ommegang. Had a beer for you!
