Today is my last day on the road….
I’ve been putting in some long days in the saddle and I’m currently in northern Virginia. To sum up the last few days since leaving the Florida Keys, I met my friends John and Sabine in Miami just before they caught their flight to Brazil…we had a great time! I rode through Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and took the Blue Ridge Parkway which is nothing short of spectacular! Today I’ll be arriving back in NJ to see many the friends I haven’t seen in ten months. Like all good things, this trip too must end…
More posts to follow soon…
I’m gonna miss the blog! Great that you had a safe and successful journey…(I mean, you can even be hit by a semi and turn it into good times!!!)… Tracy reminded me that Tom’s River is pretty close to Bay Head, NJ… we’ll be there in a couple of weeks to visit my in-laws (july 18 to 21)… will you be there? Wanna meet us for lobster? deb

Hey Lenny,
It’s been a long , hard road..thanks for the time you spent with us all. I feel as though I’ve been part of the experience. I’ll be leaving on my own trip after I lose a good friend, I just can’t leave until I know he’s , well he’s gone and I Know I done my best for him. .Afterwards, I ‘m leaving but I doubt I”ll make it as long as you did….More than 9 months,,Did you have a baby ? LOL
I’d love to be there when you get home, it would be a sight worth living..Enjoy your soon to come re-union..Showers, baths, soap and real American food..My most memorable meal was coming home from out of the States, from somewhere I can’t remember, and the only thing American I could find was White Castle, my God they were good !!
Hope to hear from you before I leave…Bill
Hey Bill! It has been a great trip for sure and it’s good to me home in a lot of ways! I had a welcome home dinner with som e friends….sushi! Though White Castle wouldn’t be bad either! lol When do you leave for your trip? Anything or any info I can help with…let me know…
Safe travels bro!

Thanks so much Becki and Scott! My time in Alaska was definitely one of the more memorable parts of the trip…certainly in part thanks to your hospitality! My folks even took an Alaska cruise recently to have a look for themselves after seeing all my pictures. It’s only a matter of time before I get back up to Alaska…..I loved it up there….and when I do expect a call! Enjoy the summer!
If I knew you were coming my way I dould have put you up for a night. Blue Ridge Mtns. are my back yard.
Welcom home and Happy 4th of July.

Hey Lenny, my first time to comment but I have followed your trip religiously. You are living my exact dream trip that I will complete sometime in the future. If you would rather email me privately with the answer to this question that is fine, can you give me a ballpark on what this trip cost you? I know there is no exact science in planning a trip like this financially but I was hoping you could give me an approx. ballpark figure. Thanks in advance ! – Justin
Hi Justin,
Good for you…you won’t regret it! As for the cost, I would plan on $65 per day on average across Central and South America. Countries like Peru and Ecuador are less expensive and Chile, Argentina and Brazil are much more expensive….so plan on $85-100 per day unless you are camping and super frugal. Let me know if I can help with anything else…I happy to help you make your dream a reality!
