Day 32 – Glennallen, AK to Haines Junction, YT, Canada 09/21/10 Mileage: 443
This morning may have been the coldest yet as the bike and the ground had a thick layer of frost. The temperature was in the 20’s, but it’s supposed to warm up to the low 50’s by the afternoon. Given the cold morning air, I waited until 10am before setting out for Haines Junction. Once on the road it was all business and I was hard on the throttle to make time. I did stop for one token picture, but because most of today was backtracking over ground I had already covered, I wasn’t compelled to stop for pictures despite the good scenery.
Token picture of the mountains above Haines Junction, YT, Canada.
Once in Haines Junction, I found a room for $50 CAD. After updating the blog, I called it a night.
443 is great miles for leaving at 10:00. What is CAD?
Enjoy the passage. Imagine the first time someone found there way there. In Anchorage, our Arm is called Turnagain because when Capt Cook was working his way up they would go so far and then the waters proved fruitless…so he said “turn again’!! Next time you come we will take you to Captain Cook’s at the top oif the towers…..excellent food and a view to die for!!
Are you deck sleeping or did you get a birth?

Lenny, it was great talking to you just before. Now I know not to worry for the next few days because you will on a ferry and going on and off for the next few days. I understand that you cannot leave your tracker on and I hope that you get on the ferry you are trying to get on right now……..there should always be room for one more motorcycle.
Stay warm and stay well and enjoy the beauty of Alaska. Love ya, Mom
OMG dude. You couldn’t be further from NYC! I love it! You’ve got an amazing trip and the photos are beyond breathtaking. The ear-to-ear smile on your face says it all. Definitely envious.
Take care,
E
Hi E!! It’s so good to hear from you…how are you!? What’s new? How’s everything going…OK? Life on the road is great so far! I miss you and the work gang though… I’ll be passing down the west coast over the next 2-3 weeks…so let me know if you’re out this way, I’d love to see you!
